> Trucks > Lou's Subrban Bild plus Misc Shots from Paul Speirs' Garage
The project is to graft a 1964 GMC Suburban Carryall to a 2004 Chevrolet 1/2 ton truck;
The donor 1/2 ton spent its life in a 10 year government contract with Carillon. Government contracts of this sort do not allow equipment older than 10 years hence its availability before it was spent.. Cost $1,500
The patient, the Suburban, was purchased from Bill's Trucks in Courtice Ontario. A now rare 2 door that Bill brought up from the California desert years ago.. Price = $5,000.
The completed vehicle will be promo vehicle for our Hamilton Industrial Brush manufacturing business.
Paul Spiers is to be commended for his intuition and guts as this approach is a game changer for Hot Rodders. He has not even discharged the air, which works, from the donor car. So far only the window cranks and the defroster has presented problems. The window cranks in the Suburban hit the new 2004 dash. The defroster is somewhat too far forward, we have answers for both issues.......Lou Meehan
